Working with a team of other practicing architects we looked at two major city intersections in an effort to improve the streetscape and create new public space for the city. This was achieved at the War Memorial Square by simply re-aligning the streets and effectively using the existing space within the public realm. This junction also housed a new public room for city information, a bus depot and a terraced seating platform. The proposal included detailed specifications for the finishes and the realignment of all overhead services to new dedicated service trenches below the sidewalks.
